What kind of man will you be?

What kind of world will you see?

What kind of man-

Will you honor women, seeing and loving them for all they are?

Will family fill your heart with joy when you see their faces?

Will friends love to be around you, laughing with the good times and crying with the bad?

Will coworkers honor you with praise, saying there goes a responsible, hard working, great guy?

Or not…

What kind of world-

Will you see all humanity as your relations, loving all as you love yourself?

Will you treat the earth with love and respect, taking care so your children can love her too?

Will you find that one sacred thing that makes your heart sing, anchoring you in your soul?

Will you see a world of peace and hope and love, working towards unity of all?

Or not…

What kind of man will you be?

What kind of world will you see?

 

 

**NOTE: I wrote this back in 7/1/2004. I was riding the bus home from work and saw this beautiful little African-American boy who was 13 months old (I asked the mom how old he was). I couldn’t have known then that we would be fighting for Black Lives as we are now.**
